A escola e "os aspectos de ordem afectivo-emocional"
O Público de hoje traz uma série de artigos/notícias sobre a educação, muito elucidativos do seu (péssimo) estado actual em Portugal, apontando, ainda, caminhos para o corrigir.
Entre os ditos artigos, veja-se a entrevista feita a Fátima Bonifácio:

Os exames nacionais antes do final do secundário podem ser dispensáveis em sistemas de ensino que reúnam pelo menos duas ordens de condições: serem altamente responsabilizadores de professores e alunos e dominados por uma cultura de grande rigor e exigência; gozarem de uma estabilidade do corpo docente que permita aos professores de cada escola conhecerem-se uns aos outros e conhecerem os "seus" alunos. Estas condições não estão reunidas nas escolas portuguesas. Os exames nacionais antes do 12º ano são aqui justificados e necessários como um antídoto contra a preguiça e o facilitismo. São-no também como um meio de avaliação dos conhecimentos efectivamente adquiridos pelos alunos. Num comunicado citado pelo PÚBLICO de 16 de Abril, o PCP deplorava que os exames nacionais do 9º ano deixassem "para último plano os aspectos de ordem afectivo-emocional, relacionais, as atitudes e a aplicação prática do saber", e que se limitassem a avaliar conhecimentos! Este tipo de discurso, que combina vacuidade e pieguice, é exemplar da mentalidade dominante segundo a qual a escola serve para tudo menos para trabalhar e aprender. Não tenho dúvidas de que estas "teorias" pedagógicas são as principais responsáveis pelo clamoroso fracasso do sistema educativo nacional.

A chave do sucesso finlandês e coreano, com métodos bastante diferentes, é só uma e chama-se trabalhar. Em Portugal não se trabalha: não trabalham os alunos nem os professores (salvo excepções, claro). Quando os alunos chegam à Universidade, não chegam apenas ignorantes, chegam sem nenhuma espécie de hábitos de trabalho. As "boas práticas" identificáveis nos sistemas finlandês e coreano não produzirão resultados nenhuns se forem introduzidas num sistema de educação que no plano organizativo se rege pelo princípio da integração e uniformização à escala nacional; que no plano da gestão escolar se pauta por uma ideologia basista conducente à irresponsabilização; e que no plano da "filosofia educativa" aposta na escola lúdica, vocacionada para o desenvolvimento de "competências" em vez da aquisição de conhecimentos. A escola é antes de mais um lugar onde se trabalha e aprende.
